When asked about their favourite colour, all the girls form primary school wrote ‘pink’ in each other’s friendship books. I always wrote ‘blue’. It’s the colour of the sky, of the deep sea, of my jeans, of my eyes. Of fashion.

As one of the favourite faces in fashion and the inventor of Karlie's Kookies (for which we remain in her debt forever), it's no wonder Kloss is our current Face of the Day. We love her ability to transform into any character and take on any role put in front of her - not bad for a 21 year old, huh?
As bloggers, we all know that feeling of getting ready for Fashion Week. It's still the biggest event of the season to get to go to the shows, walk around the fashion crowd, spot new trends and to BE a PART of it all. For the bloggers privileged to get into one of the big shows, say Burberry, Chanel or Marc Jacobs, this is often one thing they will never forget. To know that you, as a small entrepreneur, get to go to the places that before were merely reserved for the buyers, fashion journalists and "big ones in the fashion industry" is now an opportunity, you thought was never feasible for you. But next Fashion Week, that all might changes if it is up to the organisation of the events during New York Fashion Week..
1. YES time to decorate the Christmas tree while listening to cheesy Christmas carols. This is my favorite ornament, a limited edition one from Viktor&Rolf. 2. Time to get organized!! This makes organzing my administration a lot more fun (and attractive) 3. LOVE these rose gold candlesticks with black candles. Oh and my new mirror my parents gave me, they bought it 30 years ago and now it's hanging on my fireplace! 4. My favorite earrings at the moment!! All from H&M, the stars are from Anna+Nina 5. Beautiful editorial in ELLE magazine while enjoying my moring coffee! Have a lovely day!! FOLLOW BILLIE ROSE ON: BLOGLOVIN // FACEBOOK // TWITTER // INSTAGRAM
Obviously the dramatic touches are in reference to the giant furry cuffs that are sitting nicely on the sleeves of my coat and you may remember this piece from some outfit posts earlier this year? Anyway the thing about this coat is, that I only ever want to wear it through the Autumn/winter but the annoying problem is, is that it's made from a really light material, so yeah a bit bittersweet. Though whilst I may be complaining, theres actually a way around this little hurdle, like layering it over fitted jackets, that way i'm able to keep warm. I'm thinking that in the future, the possibility of a heavy/chunky knit might be an idea to?! Through the Autumn we were so lucky enough to be surrounded with some very beautiful trees and I don't know if it's been the same where you are but the leaves actually stayed on the branches for a lot longer this year then last year. But now (current day) there are not far from bare (sad face). Winter has arrived! Hope all is well with all you lovelies. Photos courtesy of The Line If you haven't noticed, simplicity is so back that it's become something akin to an aesthetic religion and its number of followers has exploded. They're all swimming in a sea of neutral palettes, oversized and refined pieces that have been whittled down to exactly what meets the eye. The aesthetic is an almost existential attitude towards fashion; no more surprises and intricate details that may disorientate us even more in our overly absurd world. "Less is more" rules all and we are overwhelmed by underwhelming creations. Simplicity has become the holy grail of design, championed by Madame Philo herself and it has swept like a crusade throughout the world of fashion. Appearing effortlessly dressed with that perfectly tousled hair and a touch of rebellion has never taken so long. Luxury has taken the perplexingly casual route of Birkenstocks and trainers, with fabrics and cuts taking center stage and design being kept to a minimum. Exceptional detail is paid to a look that purposefully lacks exactly that (I'm looking at you Marques´Almeida) and I'm nothing short of fascinated by this development. When I think back on decades past where beige was considered the colour of death and frayed hemlines meant an immediate trip to the seamstress, it's an astonishing progression. It makes me wonder whether design goes through stages of maturity and has maybe reached its final leg. What comes next? Retirement or death? Of course trends are consistently reinvented but the almost fanatical undertone that this "new era" of design is accompanied by makes me feel like it should be viewed as something more deeprooted. It is no longer just a trend but has become more of an aesthetic form of existence. Leonardo da Vinci once said that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication and he may be right, particularly when looking at the flawless images found on The Line, a webshop that has dedicated itself to answering the question "what is quintessential?". Minimalism is a form of purification, banishing those frivolous details and "paring back, stripping down and pulling together". Ascetic design has become ultra sexy and very cool but I remain sceptic. I just can't seem to fully submerge myself in that sea of neutral palettes and oversized silhouettes to receive the Philo baptising even though I am utterly enchanted with her designs. What about you? I would love to know your thoughts on this!
Haven't heard from new it-brand Costes yet? Let us fill you in. Launched in 2013 and centred around four different lines - City Chic, Luxury Rebel, Uptown Glam and Casual Mix - Costes is an accessible, affordable Dutch fashion label that offers a brand new concept for women who are looking for a complete wardrobe and shopping fix. Catering for both the fashion conscious and those just in need of great quality (and oh-so-important) timeless basics, the Costes line (founded by The Sting's Herman Franzen) focuses on both simplistic shapes, patterned pieces and on-trend collections.

photo credit | personal DESPITE the general tone of this blog (clothesclothesclothes) my wishlist is pretty non-existent this year. With this being the first time I've lived away from home I feel like the only thing I'm looking forward to is seeing my family and eating lots of food. Cliché? Maybe. But still completely honest. I'm not a total Saint Nick though, and what would a fashion blog be without a fashion-infused wishlist? So here it is, featuring a bunch of things that I could easily live without, but would make that festive period that little bit sweeter. Failing that - the Christmas cake will do. When in doubt, take note from the iconic parisian fashion designer that is Chanel. Because let's face it - if you can't buy the bags you can at least live the lifestyle. Just don't forget to proclaim from the rooftops / your Twitter: "Coco made me do it!"
Whether you love them or hate them, chances are you've noticed these shoes flying around the Blogosphere as of late. Personally, we can't get enough of the clunky clogs here at CofD HQ, and if it wasn't for the hefty price tag we'd all be sporting them by now. Zara, can you hear us?

I have been using Embryolisse Lait- Cream on and off for over 2 years now and I'm always going back to it. It's the perfect super hydrating cream (especially in this time of the year when it's getting colder) which is gentle for my skin and not greasy at all! Really recommend it when you're looking for a cream which is moisturizing and has a friendly price tag ;-) For my lips I only use the Rosebud Salve. It's the only thing that works for my dry lips! I love wearing these navy trousers by Acne with my platform brogues, something about the way they have this baggy hang over the shoes. I also love wearing this very cosy waffle-knit rugby shirt that I bought from the M&S mens department a little while ago, perfect for pairing with smarter trousers like these or just your favourite denim on a cosy sunday.
